1. Scope and Definitions
This Domain Registration Policy (“Policy”) governs the registration, transfer, renewal, and management of domain names purchased or managed through our services (“Services”). By registering or managing a domain with us, you agree to this Policy and to the rules of the relevant registry and ICANN (where applicable).
Key Terms
- “Registrant”: The legal holder of a domain name.
- “Registry”: The organization managing a TLD (e.g., Verisign for .com/.net, CIRA for .ca).
- “Registrar”: ICANN‑accredited or registry‑accredited entity through which the domain is registered.
- “TLD”: Top‑level domain (e.g., .com, .net, .ca).
Relationship
- We act as a reseller or registrar for certain TLDs.
- All registrations are subject to the applicable registry’s policies and ICANN consensus policies.
2. Registration and Eligibility
- Domains are registered on a first‑come, first‑served basis upon successful payment and verification.
- Eligibility requirements may apply for specific TLDs (e.g., Canadian presence for .ca set by CIRA).
- We reserve the right to reject registrations that violate law, third‑party rights, or registry rules.
- Premium or reserved names may carry additional fees or may be unavailable.
3. Verification and Accuracy
- You must provide accurate and current Registrant, Admin, Tech, and Billing contact information.
- ICANN‑mandated email verification (where applicable) must be completed within the time specified, or the domain may be suspended.
- For .ca, you must meet CIRA’s Canadian Presence Requirements and agree to CIRA’s Registrant Agreement.
- We may suspend or cancel domains for false, incomplete, or unverifiable information.
Tip: Keep your contact info updated to avoid suspension or failed renewals.
4. DNS, Nameservers, and Transfers
- You may use our nameservers or your own. DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate globally.
- Outbound transfers: Domains must be unlocked, have a valid authorization code, and not be within a transfer lock window (e.g., 60 days after registration or contact changes) per ICANN/CIRA rules.
- Inbound transfers: Extends the domain term by one year for most TLDs (excluding some ccTLDs); registry fees apply.
- We may deny transfers for fraud, UDRP actions, court orders, or unpaid fees.
5. Pricing, Payments, Taxes
- Pricing varies by TLD, term length, and whether the domain is a standard or premium name.
- All fees are due at the time of order and are generally non‑refundable once the registry processes the registration.
- Taxes (e.g., GST/HST/PST) and ICANN fees (where applicable) may apply.
- We may update prices due to registry or exchange‑rate changes; current prices are posted at checkout.
6. Renewals, Expiry, and Redemption
- Enable auto‑renew to reduce the risk of expiration. You are responsible for ensuring payment methods are valid.
- Grace periods after expiry vary by TLD and registry policy and are not guaranteed.
- Redemption or restore fees may apply once a domain enters the Redemption Grace Period.
- Expired domains may be parked, auctioned, or deleted according to registry policy.
7. Ownership and WHOIS
- The Registrant listed in WHOIS (or registry data) is the legal owner of the domain.
- WHOIS privacy/proxy services, if available, mask public data but do not change ownership.
- We may be required to disclose Registrant information to competent authorities or per legal process.
8. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Activities
- Prohibited: Malware, phishing, spam, botnets, illegal content, IP infringement, child exploitation, or activities violating applicable laws.
- Rapid DNS abuse will result in immediate mitigation, suspension, or termination.
- We comply with court orders, law enforcement requests, and registry abuse processes.
Abuse may lead to immediate suspension without refund, at our sole discretion.
9. Data Protection and Privacy
- We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
- Registrant data may be shared with registries, escrow providers, data processors, and ICANN as required.
- Some TLDs require publication of limited data; redaction rules vary by jurisdiction and TLD.
10. Disputes, UDRP, CDRP
- .com/.net domains are subject to ICANN’s Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and URS procedures.
- .ca domains are subject to CIRA’s Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (CDRP).
- We will implement decisions from accredited dispute‑resolution providers and courts of competent jurisdiction.
11. Suspension and Cancellation
- We may suspend, lock, or cancel domains for non‑payment, policy violations, abuse, or on receipt of valid legal orders.
- We may place a registrar or registry lock to preserve the status of a domain during investigations.
12. TLD‑Specific Terms
- .ca domains are governed by CIRA policies and Canadian Presence Requirements.
- .com/.net domains are governed by Verisign policies and ICANN consensus policies.
- Additional TLD‑specific rules may apply; consult the relevant registry’s website.
13. Changes to Policy
We may update this Policy at any time. Material changes will be posted on our website with the “Last updated” date revised accordingly. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
